SYDNEY, NSW: Digital Products Group has today announced the release of what it calls the first 2TB PVR. This new model, the Beyonwiz DP-P2 Special Edition (RRP $799) can record 800 hours of standard definition or 350 hours in high definition, according to general manager Jai Kemp.

In addition to providing free-to-air recoding, this PVR can also record Foxtel, through the use of an AV input.

"It's crazy to look back and remember that the first PVR that we launched in Australia over eight years ago,” said Kemp. “It was an 80GB model allowing users to record a ‘massive’ 24 hourrs of Standard Definition TV — now we are launching a 2,000GB version that will record 800 hours."

"Free to air TV now offers so many channels and so much variety that users need more and more storage. I do think, however, that you would have to be an extremely avid TV watcher to push the limits of this 2TB monster!"
