SYDNEY, NSW: The organisational changes come as the giant retailer sets up for what it anticipates will be an “exciting” period of growth.

At least 16 new appointments will take effect over the next two months, involving managers in merchandise, business services, finance, marketing, electrical, entertainment and IT.

The IT department is currently under review. Future strategy or appointments are yet to be announced.

Speaking about the staff makeover, Myer CEO Bernie Brooks said, “The depth of talent in the senior management ranks at Myer is exceptional, and this is evidenced not only by the calibre of the appointments announced today, but also the scale and success of what has been achieved at Myer over the past five years.

“This announcement reflects the conclusion of the major part of our turnaround phase, including the successful rollout of our new point of sale system and the near completion of our world-class Myer Melbourne store development.

“We are now moving into an unprecedented period of growth and expansion for Myer and I am confident we now have the right team and leadership structure in place to take the company forward into the growth phase.”

The changes include new appointments, changes in reporting procedures and modifications of titles and duties.
