SYDNEY, NSW: Electrolux and Westinghouse have been picked by consumers as the most satisfying refrigerator brands in Australia, leaving some of the other big players trailing behind in the popularity stakes, according to a national customer satisfaction survey.

LG and Samsung scraped in last in the survey, which asked 2,500 Australians to measure their levels of satisfaction with their refrigerator in terms of price, performance and reliability, design, internal layout and service and warranty.

The head of research for the Canstar Cannex initiative, Steven Mickenbecker, said that while the results showed Australians were generally happy with their refrigerators, some were disgruntled by a perceived lack of storage space and shattering shelves.

“Consumers proved reasonably happy with their fridge across the board, with all brands scoring at least 3 stars, or 6 out of 10, in each category,” said Mickenbecker.

“That being said, the study highlighted some common consumer gripes about perceived poor design, lack of storage space and the plastic shelving's tendency to shatter.

“Electrolux have a great product.  Our respondents have rated them the number one fridge brand when it came to overall satisfaction, price, performance and reliability, design, internal layout and service and warranty,” said Mr Mickenbecker.

“Many consumers also felt prices were too high and that the size of the fridge was misleading from the outside."
