SYDNEY, NSW: Samsung Australia has commenced an investigation into 3DcheapTV, an organisation that claims to sell Samsung 3D TVs for inconceivably cheap prices. Furthermore, the local office of the premium Korean brand is considering legal action against the 3DcheapTV.

In a statement provided to Current.com.au this afternoon, Samsung Australia vice president, retail sales and marketing, Michael Richardson, stressed that this website is not endorsed by Samsung.

“It has been brought to our attention that the website www.3DCheapTV.com is offering what are being described as ‘Samsung 3DTVs’, and associated products with Samsung branding, for sale in Australia.

“Samsung Electronics Australia has not endorsed the importation or sale of these products, and they have not been acquired from Samsung Australia.

“We are currently investigating this matter and once we have had an opportunity to assess the legal position, we will consider taking any appropriate legal action which is available.”

Current.com.au recommends that all consumer electronics and appliance purchases are made from recognised retail outlets.
