SYDNEY, NSW: Fashion meets function in a new range of camera bags to be released in Australia, creating new sales opportunities for specialty camera and electronics stores.

The timely announcement comes after Canon recently reported that its net profit for the June quarter increased four-fold from a year earlier, due to a demand for digital cameras and printers.

Tasco Sales has been appointed the sole distributor of jill-e designs camera bags in Australia.

Tasco general manager of the digital cameras sales division, Stewart Pickersgill, said he expected the bags to take off after being well received at a recent PMA exhibition.

"These high-quality, functional yet fashionable bags from jill-e designs introduce something completely new to the Australian market,” said Pickersgill.

“The bags not only organise and protect gear for busy photographers on the go they also come in the latest designs and colours in a dramatic shift away from the usual bland equipment bags.”

The bags were inspired by two US based women intent to balance functionality with style by moving away from the commonly found black and grey nylon carriers.

The bags come in an array of sizes, colours and materials. The jill-e Large Rolling bag can be used for clothes and overnight essentials, after removing or rearranging the organisers.
