SYDNEY, NSW: The success of selling shavers lies largely in the ability certain promotions have to tip the scales from product to product, according to a Shaver Shop spokesperson.

Consumers have been asking retailers if they “can have the cash instead” when offered gifts as part of promotions, said Shauna Grant from Warringah Mall Shaver Shop, Sydney.

“Braun is selling really well, they make good shavers anyway, but they’ve also got a cash back offer that people really like,” said Grant.

“It’s so much more popular than any other sort of promotion and I think they’ve realised that after last year.”

“Certainly sales have been slower for the last couple of years, but Father’s Day is still our second most popular selling time of year.”

“We sell all variety of shavers but there are a couple of standouts. The Philips SensoTouch 3D range is very revolutionary and I think it’s going to be quite popular,” said Grant.

“In our group we sell mid to high range shavers, but we stock $50 shavers as well."
