SYDNEY, NSW: Panasonic Australia will tomorrow launch its latest range of digital still Lumix cameras and a “groundbreaking” innovation in digital video at a press conference in Sydney.

This is the second major Lumix digital still launch for Panasonic in 2010, with the first batch of new products unveiled at the Australian Open Tennis in January. More exciting than this, however, is Panasonic’s digital video breakthrough.

Although not able to reveal any specific details about what will be on show, it is likely that Panasonic will be showing off its new 3D lens for its G Series Micro Four Thirds cameras tomorrow. News of this development’s impending launch was released in late July, with Panasonic dubbing this product a World First.

The most exciting – and groundbreaking – product that Panasonic could show off is its new 3D consumer camcorder. Unlike the $20,000 model debuted at CES in Las Vegas in January, this camcorder will be competitively priced, opening the door to everyday consumers to create their own 3D content.
