BRUSSELS, BELGUIM: The chief executive officer and vice-president of De’Longhi SPA, Fabio De’Longhi, was last week named president of CECED (European Committee of Domestic Equipment Manufacturers) at the committee’s general assembly.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge of driving forward CECED’s activities, serving consumers and ensuring that the voice of this important sector of the European economy, the household appliance industry, is heard,” said De’Longhi.

De’Longhi takes over the role of president from Kurt-Ludwig Gutberlet, chief executive of Bosch and Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH.

While the CECED represents the household appliance manufacturing industry in Europe and the UK, no such organisation exists for appliance companies within Australia.

CECED’s European members include Ariston Thermo Group, BSH Bosch and Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH, De’Longhi, AB Electrolux, Gorenje, Liebherr, Indesit Company, Miele, Philips, Saeco, SEB and Whirlpool Europe.
