SYDNEY, NSW: Samsung Electronics this morning launched two nationwide promotions in time for the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup.

“The countdown is underway to the World Cup and we anticipate many fans will be eager to upgrade their televisions to experience all the matches in the best way possible,” said marketing manager, Samsung Electronics, Tony Brown.

From 1 May through to 30  June customers who purchase a selected Samsung 3D TV will be eligible to redeem a bonus 3D bundle, containing a Samsung 3D Blu-ray player and two sets of rechargeable 3D glasses, valued at RRP $849.

Customers will also receive a bonus 3D TV starter kit, containing a 3D Blu-ray disc of Monsters vs. Aliens, as well as two sets of battery powered 3D glasses.

According to Samsung, this promotion means consumers can pay RRP $2,899 and receive a 40-inch LED 3D Series 7 TV, a 3D Blu-ray player, a 3D Blu-ray movie and four sets of 3D glasses.

For customers not looking to adopt 3D so early and purchase a selected non-3D TV, Samsung is offering a bonus Blu-ray home theatre system for improved surround sound entertainment, valued at RRP $799.

Brown said that Samsung TVs also have the added advantage of being able to convert 2D content to 3D, so viewers will be able to experience more World Cup games with the new viewing technology.
