SYDNEY, NSW: Samsung Electronics has introduced a new computer truly designed for those on the go.

The Samsung N220 netbook features up to 12-hours of battery life and pre-installed Optus Mobile Broadband service designed for easier internet access.

Exclusive to Optus customers, the notebook allows internet access with a built-in 3G quad-band module and Optus SIM card, eliminating the need for a USB dongle or internet card.

“The next generation Samsung N220 netbook will give Optus customers even more power and features on the go,” said Samsung Electronics Australia IT director, Philip Newton.

The N220 netbook is available on 24 month Optus My Wireless Netbook 2GB or 5GB plans, with an optical wireless mouse and messenger carry-bag included on the 5GB plan.

The computer features integrated 2.1 channel speakers and an in-built subwoofer with SRS 3D sound effects, as well as high definition video playback.

A more energy efficient LED display allows for the longer 12-hour battery life, said the company.

Available nationally through Optus dealers and telesales, both 2GB ($49.95 per month minimum cost, 24 month $1,199.76 minimum cost) and 5GB ($69.95 per month minimum cost, 24 month minimum cost $1,679.76) plans offer customers the Samsung N220 netbook with an embedded Optus Mobile Broadband service.
