MELBOURNE, VIC: Panasonic will tonight present its 2010 home entertainment product launch via a live webcast, the day after unveiling its new range of dedicated 3D plasma TVs.

In a company first, tonight’s product launch will be available at Panasonic.com.au/ANewVisualEra at 7:15pm(EST).

The live webcast will stream footage of this week’s Panasonic event at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre so staff and retailers, as well as followers on Facebook, Twitter and TeamPanasonic members, can be among the first to see the Panasonic’s 2010 home entertainment offerings.

“Our Panasonic advocates are important to us and to show our appreciation we want them to have an advance viewing of our exciting new range of home entertainment products before they arrive in-store,” said director, consumer electronics group, Panasonic Australia, Paul Reid.

Panasonic yesterday announced a deal with Yahoo!7 to stream Yahoo!7’s Plus7 content on selected Viera televisions. Yahoo!7 announced a similar content deal with Sony earlier this year.

Panasonic’s announcement comes the week after both Samsung and LG announced they will be partnering with Telstra BigPond to deliver home content.

In addition to streaming live video, tonight’s Panasonic webcast will include product information and a live Twitter feed where attendees at the launch or viewers at home can comment about the event and the products being announced using hashtag #PanAV.
