SYDNEY, NSW: Harvey Norman is set to undertake a “revolutionary business transformation program”, with the listed Australian retailer currently recruiting for two senior managers to head up the transition.

According to an advertisement in today’s Australian Financial Review, Harvey Norman is seeking a Program Director and a Senior Project Manager for the business transformation.

“Harvey Norman…is embarking on a revolutionary business transformation program, commencing in early 2010,” reads the advertisement. “This program will be founded on the SAP IS Retail solution and is designed to transform Harvey Norman’s operations and elevate its dominant position within the retail sector in Australia, New Zealand and Ireland.”

Current.com.au has sought comment from Harvey Norman’s head office as to the nature of this transformation. Although the retailer recently reported strong figures for the sales periods up to Christmas 2009, the last 18 months has generally been difficult for the iconic group, with decreases in like-for-like sales and significant challenges in the group’s efforts to plant itself in Ireland.

Interested parties in these two opportunities are advised to contact Harvey Norman’s Human Resources department.
