SYDNEY, NSW: Seagate today announced the release of four new external storage products for small business users. The new products are in the supplier’s BlackArmor (sic) range.

The new additions to the range are the NAS 220 Storage Server (RRP $599-$999), which is available in two and four terabyte editions; the NAS 110 Storage Server (RRP $329-$449), which is available in one and two terabyte editions; the WS 110 Workstation External Drive (RRP $199-$399), which is available in one and two terabyte editions; and the PS 110 (RRP $199), which is only available in a 500 megabyte model.

The flagship model in this range, the NAS 220, is designed to be a centralised storage and remote access solution, which can be used by up to 20 PCs. It has been specifically created to meet the demands of SME use, but can also be used effectively by home networks or prosumers, according to the supplier.

“In challenging economic conditions, small businesses are demanding that high-quality, integrated, reliable IT solutions be delivered in economical packages,” said IDC vice president, Ben Woo.

“Providing the flexibility to choose from an array of solutions that support current needs and provide a strategic growth path with minimal additional investment will be very appealing to this market segment.”

Woo was backed up by his local colleague, Seagate managing director, Asia Pacific, BanSeng Teh.

“For 30 years, Seagate has been the trusted provider of reliable storage technology to companies of all sizes. The BlackArmor (sic) family of products gives small businesses, those with home offices, and more advanced recreational users an easy-to-use yet robust storage solution at an affordable price point.”
