It was announced last week that Sony were giving away an extra 10,000 PS3 consoles in its latest promotion. Now Panasonic has followed suit, with an additional 8,000 bonus gifts on offer, making it the company’s largest Christmas promotion ever.

According to Panasonic Australia, an additional 4,000 Blu-ray Home Theatre Systems and 4,000 DVD Recorders have been added to its Viera Christmas promotion, bringing the total number of gifts on offer to 44,000.

The company claims that 20,000 bonus HD gifts have already been given away in the first 23 days to customers who purchased any Panasonic Viera Full High Definition Plasma TV.

Paul Reid, director, consumer electronics group, Panasonic Australia, commented on the success of the promotion.

“We are thrilled with the enthusiastic response from customers to this promotion and are excited to offer more bonus gifts to meet the demand for these desirable High Definition products, ensuring that Panasonic Viera remains an attractive sales opportunity for consumers in the lead up to Christmas,” he said.

Panasonic is also promoting the excellent up-sell opportunities this promotion gives to its retail partners, with options of promoting Blu-ray Disc titles, SD cards, pre-recorded DVDs and blank discs.
