SYDNEY, NSW: BenQ has launched two new LED computer models, in a move it says will revolutionise the category, in the same way LED lighting has changed the flat panel market.

The two new models are the 24-inch V2400 Eco and the 21.5-inch V2200 Eco. Both models are Full HD 1080p, and are described as the first release in a new series of BenQ displays.

According to BenQ, the new models employ the latest in monitor display lighting. This is most noticeable when viewing blacks and whites, with the monitors’ 5,000,000:1 contrast ratios describes as an “unparalleled benefit”.

BenQ is especially promoting its green credentials with this release. The supplier says that these new models conserve energy and are environmentally sustainable.

“From components to product ID to packaging, every step lives up to the highest standards of environmental and human responsibility,” said BenQ Australian GM Chee F Chung.

According to BenQ, “The V2400 Eco and V2200 Eco are certified TCO 5.0, RoHS, EnergySTAR 4.1, EuP Energy, PC3R, and EPEAT Gold, and will be certified advanced EnergySTAR 5.0 in Nov ‘09.  Both monitors have also received the Taiwan Green Mark and the China Environmental Label.”
