SYDNEY: De’Longhi has been nominated for two Australian International Design Awards. Both nominations are in the 2009 Consumer category, one nomination is for its Perfecta Cappuccino and another is for its Latissima coffee machine.

The judges in this category were particularly impressed with the De’Longhi models’ usability, while its famous ‘Just One Finger’ concept was also highlighted for recognition.

Currently being displayed on the Awards’ website, the following description supports the nominations: “Its easy to use interface, unique milk tank solution with three dedicated milk buttons, and patented cleaning function highlights its user friendly design.

“The Perfecta Cappuccino’s ‘just one finger’ operation delivers the perfect coffee every time. With its intelligent technology, you can program your coffee to your own personal taste — create the perfect balance of coffee strength and aroma, milk and water temperature and it will, at the touch of one button, create your ideal cappuccino, latté or flat white every time.”

Talking about this success is De’Longhi senior marketing manager Jason Haskins.

“We’re over the moon about this nomination, it’s a very prestigious award. We see it as a real testament to the design and technology of our products. These awards aren’t just about appearance, functionality is also very important, so it’s great to be recognised as a supplier of great products that also look great.”

When asked about the process involved to secure finalist position, Haskins said, “The vetting process was very rigorous, there were four stages in all, so to be here as a finalist is unbelievable; it’s a significant achievement.”
