MELBOURNE: After less than six months in the role, Tim O’Leary has resigned as general manager for the home electronics group of Pioneer Electronics Australia.

In a statement from Pioneer this morning it was announced that O’Leary will move to a position in the seasonal product category.

“It’s with regret that Pioneer Electronics Australia announces the resignation of Tim O’Leary, general manager for the home electronics group, effective 13th February 09,” the official statement read. “A lucrative position has enticed O’Leary back to the heating and cooling industry.”

O’Leary’s appointment as Pioneer’s GM was broken to the industry by Current.com.au on July 22 last year.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of managing the home electronics group and leave behind a team, which is in a better position to deal with the challenges ahead,” said O’Leary.

“Tim has been instrumental in reshaping the home electronics group and refocusing the business on improving margins. We wish Tim every success,” said Pioneer Electronics Australia Pty Ltd chief financial and operations officer, Bruce Blythe.
