Sharp has announced the release of its latest Blu-ray Disc player, the BD-HP50X. It features high definition video and audio, plus a motorised front panel.

“Offering the latest in home theatre technology, the BD-HP50X provides excellent image clarity and clean contrasts thanks to full HD 1080p/24Hz output from Blu-ray disc. JPEG images are displayed in vibrant colour, as true as the eye can see, made possible through inbuilt x.v.Colour technology,” said a Sharp Spokesperson.

High definition audio is achieved through Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Digital Plus and DTS-HD. Playback formats include BD, DVD and CD.

“Featuring the very latest in HD video and audio, the Sharp BD-HP50X advanced technology, streamlined design and elegant piano black finish make it the Blu-ray player of choice for dedicated movie buffs and home entertainment enthusiasts,” continued that spokesperson.

The Sharp BD-HP50X is RRP $599.
