Bathroom heat lamps recalled due to fire risk

A recall has been announced for a range of Mistral, Plugz, Vogue Design and RingGrip bathroom heat globes supplied by Chief Kitchenware. This national recall is an extension of a recall first announced in November 2007.

The affected models are:

-Mistral: M6600-O, M6601-0, M6700-0, M6700DUC, M6705-0, M6740-0, and M6715 AUTOHEAT.
-Plugz: P3N1-2, and P6601-0.
-Vogue Design: VD2N1/2, and VD3N1/DUCT.
-RingGrip: 6600-0, 6700-0, and 6601-0.

In these models, there is a risk of the lamp holders overheating and creating a risk of fire.

Customers who have one of these models are advised not to use them. Furthermore, users are directed to unscrew and remove the heat lamps and store safely. After writing down the brand name and model number, found on the product label inside the unit behind the heat lamps, affected consumers should call Chief Kitchenware on 1800 677 845.
