SYDNEY: A large Hardware & General store close to Brookvale Oval in Sydney’s north east will become a Betta Electrical, according to BSR Group managing director, Ian Brown.

Speaking to Current.com.au, Brown said the formal announcement would arrive in “the next day or so”, but in the meantime, confirmed the addition to the BSR Group.

Hardware & General are a very big retail company in Sydney. They are in every conceivable hardware commodity at the moment, and they are a very well known retail brand that’s going Betta Electrical,” said Brown.

The Hardware & General chain includes three other stores in Marayong, Peakhurst and Mona Vale, but it appears only the Brookvale store of the chain will be changing its colours at this point in time.

The change to a Betta Electrical will place it, to a certain degree, in direct competition with a Radio Rentals store on the other side of Pittwater Road.

Further information, such as opening dates and stock specialisation was unavailable at time of publication.

Comment from Hardware & General was also being sought.
