SYDNEY: Toshiba yesterday announced details of 21 new notebook computers at a media event at the Sydney Exhibition Centre. These models have been categories under a two broad domains — business and consumer — and then divided again into lines called Portege, Satellite, Tecra and Qosmio.

Talking about the releases is Toshiba product marketing manager, Justin White.

“As the shift from desktop to notebook format continues, consumers want to experience a better mobile lifestyle and be able to connect to their work,” said White. “Toshiba’s new range introduces…new features, …new colours and more storage for backing up content and improving speeds.”

Talking about the business side of these releases is Toshiba product marketing manager, Mathew Tumminello.

“As Australia’s mobile workforce continues to grow unabated, business users require the flexibility to manage the increasing demands of work and personal life from anywhere via efficient devices,” said Tumminello.

The Tecra, Satellite Pro and Portege ranges of business-oriented notebooks will be available from 28 July. Pricing is currently unavailable.

The Qosmio and Satellite ranges of consumer notebooks will be available from 9 August. Prices in this domain range from RRP $2,199 to $2,799 for the Qosmio notebooks, and RRP $749 to $2,299 for the Satellite notebooks.
