BRISBANE: WOW Sight and Sound launched its new online shopping website today by adding the link to its homepage at www.1wow.com.au and it is running a grand ‘opening’ special on selected products until 31 July 31 2008.
The new online store will sell a range of products, but not the entire WOW Sight and Sound catalogue. The products available include a select range of TVs as well as computers, digital cameras, CDs, DVDs, MP3 players and car stereo accessories and toys.
Consumers can browse by product category, brand name, new arrivals, best sellers, specials and clearance items. Consumers can also shop by price in four ranges: below $20, from $20 to $50, from $50 to $100, and over $100.
In a statement today, Wow referenced The Internet Activity Survey, conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics in June 2006, saying that over 50 percent of Australian households now access broadband and 31 percent of adults now purchase online.
WOW Sight and Sound’s director of retail Con Nicolas said online retailing in response to modern consumer trends and also to service rural areas.
“It’s obvious that more and more people are looking to online purchasing as a convenient alternative to window shopping,” Nicolas said, “It’s quick, easy and can be done from the comfort of your home at any time of day or night.
“We understand our customers are becoming increasingly time-poor and aren’t always able to visit one of our superstores. Likewise, there are many rural communities unable to access our quality products due to their geographical location.”
Nicolas said that the site has an advanced e-commerce security system and a damaged goods return policy.
“We want to make sure our customers have complete confidence in purchasing from our site,” he said. “Our online store uses the latest in Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to ensure the experience is safe and secure at all times.”
Customers can also redeem store vouchers when purchasing online and discounts are offered on some items when purchased in bulk.
WOW Sight & Sound also has 12 superstores across Australia.
