CLEVELAND, OHIO: Electrolux Home Products USA and sister company Frigidaire Canada have recalled approximately 7,500 Kenmore-branded wall ovens in North America after finding gas built up during broiling could escape upon door opening, causing burns.

The 60cm ovens, sold between September 2004 and October 2007, had already caused burnt hands and faces to some customers, as built-up gas and even flames exited the ovens when doors were opened after extended broiling.

Model and serial numbers are printed on the inside left wall of the ovens. Affected models include the 790.30472400, 790.30473400, 790.30474400, 790.30479400, with serial numbers between NF401xxxxx and NF610xxxxx.

Electrolux Home Products and Frigidaire both recommended customers stop using the broil function immediately and contact department store Sears to book a repair time.

An Electrolux Australia spokesperson told Current.com.au that none of the affected models had been sold in Australia.
