MELBOURNE: ActronAir has unveiled a new ducted air conditioning system that allows individual control of air temperature in almost every room of the house, the ESP Ultima.

Revealed at the ARBS show in Melbourne, the ESP Ultima uses individual zone sensors to control temperature in up to eight zones of the house. It uses a wall-mounted controller, which can be paired with a second controller for two-storey houses.

The system also uses proprietary Variable Fan Technology (VFT), introduced in 2006, to adjust airflow according to zone usage. ActronAir claimed this gave an advantage over traditional air conditioning and inverter systems, as it did not waste energy pumping out maximum airflow when a zone was switched off.

Owners can also fit additional temperature sensors to reduce temperature fluctuations by way of measuring average temperatures more accurately across large, open spaces.
