SYDNEY: LG Electronics Australia today announced the arrival of its PG60 plasma series which the company is promoting as the ‘bezel-less’ TV due to its single layered, seamless front panel.

The range includes two high definition models, the 42-inch 42PG60UD (RRP $1,799) and the 50-inch 50PG60UD (RRP $2,499), both featuring 100Hz Fluid Motion technology and a claimed 30,000:1 contrast ratio.

But key to the new range, according to LG, is its unique aesthetic which, like the company’s Chocolate phone, has a single flat surface for the front of the TV.

LG’s PG60 plasma series has a ‘bezel-less’ look.

“Consumers have shown a clear preference for larger screen TVs that combine minimalist design with the latest viewing technology,” said LG category marketing manager for TV, Warren Kim.

“The new LG PG60 plasma TVs represent our strong commitment to giving consumers above and beyond what they expect from our products.

“This range is the ultimate in unobtrusive, stylish design – offering premium picture and enhanced sound quality,” he said.

Sound quality is also a focus of the new plasma range.

The new flat panels feature ‘invisible’ speakers  as part of a sound system tuned by audio specialist Mark Levinson, who was announced earlier this year at CES in Las Vegas as the brand’s spokesperson and consultant for its audio solutions.

According to LG, the speakers use minute vibrations throughout the TV cabinet to produce cleaner, more natural sound.

Both models are available now.
