MELBOURNE: Maytag has announced the signing of a sponsorship deal with the Good Food & Wine Show that will run from May to November around Australia.

Maytag Marketing general manager, David Graham, said the deal will help continue to raise brand awareness of the Maytag range.

“Our involvement with the Good Food & Wine Show is in keeping with our commitment to continue raising brand awareness for the Maytag range. It offers us the opportunity to showcase our new Maytag integrated kitchen range to consumers at an event that has established itself as Australia’s largest and most successful consumer food and wine show,” he said.

As the major appliance sponsor of the Diners Club Celebrity Theatre, the Maytag brand will be prominent at shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane. The Celebrity Theatre will apparently play a pivotal role at the show, hosting Australia’s top chefs as they hold daily cooking demonstrations.

Maytag will also be involved in extensive promotional and advertising activity for the event.

The initial promotional activity will include a competition in the April issue of the Australian Women’s Weekly, where readers can win $20,000-worth of Maytag kitchen appliances. The Maytag name will also feature in metropolitan newspaper advertising promoting the shows in Victoria, New South Wales, Western Australia and Queensland. Magazine titles carrying the advertising will include Delicious, Australian Good Taste, Super Food Ideas and Donna Hay.

Melbourne:  30 May – 1 June
Sydney:  20 – 22 June
Perth:  11 – 13 July
Brisbane:  7 – 9 November
