MELBOURNE: Gaggenau has taken wins in all ten categories it was nominated for at the 2008 iF Design Awards in Germany.

The new 200 Series oven range, released in Australia last month, won several awards, with the BX 281-110 double oven, the BO 221-130 oven and the 224-130 steam oven taking out the silverware.

In addition, the company’s CM 210-110 built-in coffee machine and WS 261-111 warming drawer won praise from the judges.

Gaggenau said they were pleased with the result, especially as stricter than usual design criteria were applied this year and fewer products received formal recognition than last year as a result.

The judging criteria included design quality, workmanship, material selection, innovation, environmental compatibility, functionality, ergonomics, usage visualization, safety, brand value and aspects of ‘universal design’.

Gaggenau’s wins follow success in past iF gold and “red dot” awards, as well as various other design awards.

The iF Gold Awards will be awarded during the “Cebit” trade fair in Hannover, Germany, which takes place this week. Gaggenau said they hoped to add more gold to their trophy cabinet there.
