SYDNEY: Samsung Electronics Australia has launched what it claims is the world’s first integrated Blu-ray home theatre system, the $1,759 HT-BD2T.

The system comes with an integrated Blu-ray player and amplifier and makes the most of Blu-ray’s ability to carry 7.1 surround with seven speakers, including active subwoofer.

The BD2t also offers the first use of Dolby True HD and DTS HD master in a ‘one box’ home thatre system. AV Division product manager Jeff Peake said the formats would provide "a leap forward in sound quality and offer the consumer a simple ‘out of the box’ solution to state of the art audio."

Customers can also use the ‘AnyNet+’ system to control both the TV and home theatre system from one remote control.

“The HT-BD2T is the perfect home theatre system for AV enthusiasts or consumers who are new to Blu-ray and want to make the most of the format,” said Peake.

"This system finally makes the step into the next generation available to all consumers."

The HT-BD2T is available now.
