SYDNEY: Blanco launched its new wet products range including dishwashers and washing machines to the NSW market at the appropriately chosen Australian Maritime Museum with magnificent Darling Harbour water views and Siamese fighting fish completing the wet theme.

Blanco launched a range of four dishwashers and four washing machines as well as a series of sinks and tapware, including a novel kitchen tap with LED coloured lighting inside the tap that causes the water coming out to glow different colours according to the water temperature. Hot water glows red, warm water glows purple and cold water has a blue glow as you turn the tap handle. Eternal power is not required to power the LEDs, it is a self generating system.

The evening event was attended by around 80 guests including consumer electronics retailers and architects and everyone was a winner with all guests receiving a carry bag from Blanco that included product information and a free Siamese Fighting Fish in a Blanco branded glass jar.

Glen Geary of The Good Guys at Kotara was rewarded for his journey down from Newcastle when he won the door prize, which was his choice of any appliance on display.

A key message Blanco wanted to convey to the market was that Blanco is committed to the laundry and dishwasher markets and now has a complete range of products available in both from entry level to connoisseur models.

The new Blanco 60 cm dishwashers for the retail channels are available in two ranges: Connoisseur accommodating 13 place settings and Contemporary managing 14 place settings; in both freestanding and fully integrated configurations. These dishwashers feature a micro-fitting vacuum that filters the water to ensure no dirty water is pumped back into the machine during the wash cycle.

The Connoisseur range topping stainless steel BFD10X freestanding model has a price of RRP $1,899 and offers seven wash programs.

In the front load washing machine range are four 60 cm models available in white in both six and seven kilogram load capacities. All models in the range offer delayed start, a child door lock and 12 wash programs. The top of the line six and seven kilogram models (BFW616 and BFW716 respectively) have a maximum spin speed of 1600 RPM and have an anti creasing function. The seven kilogram versions feature a Jet Wash system that redistributes water from the bottom of the drum back to the top during the wash cycle. The BFW716 washing machine has a price of RRP $1,499.
