SYDNEY: ViewSonic Corporation today announced the launch of the DP701W4 wireless digital picture frame at 800×480 resolution and a 400:1 contrast ratio for RRP $199.

Available in glossy black or white, the seven-inch ViewSonic DP701W4 frame has 128MB of internal memory standard and a maximum memory of 1GB. It can display and rotate 400 photos at five megapixels each.

Pictures can be uploaded to the unit via a USB cable or directly from a camera’s memory card. Multiple types of card readers are included and the frame can display either JPEG or BMP files.

“As a leading display technology provider, it is a natural progression for ViewSonic to expand our portfolio of products to incorporate current digital lifestyle trends,” said ViewSonic country manager Australia and New Zealand, Brendan Frawley.

The frame allows users to browse and display photos individually, view thumbnails or create a slideshow with transition effects. According to ViewSonic, the frame’s 30 ms response time creates a smooth progression between images.
