TOKYO, JAPAN: More than 200,000 visitors are expected to attend this year’s Ceatec show in Japan, with more exhibitors and booth space sold than ever before.

Ceatec 2007, which opened yesterday and will conclued this Saturday, has 895 companies and industry organisations exhibiting in 3,199 booths, with foreign exhibitors comprising 39 per cent of the total.

The record number of exhibitors and booth space is up from 807 exhibitors and 2,936 booth spaces in 2006. The number of foreign exhibitors increased by 65 over the 2006 show.

Ceatec (Combined Exhibition of Advanced TEChnologies), first held in 2000, is promoted as the world’s most comprehensive exhibition of leading edge electronics technology, bringing together companies developing the latest electronics technologies, products and services in imaging, information, and communications.

In addition to the hundreds of stands featuring the technology that drives the industry, the consumer electronics companies display their new consumer products and technologies.
