SYDNEY: Philips Electronics Australia has expanded its consumer electronics team with the introduction of four key experienced staff in new roles including a new commercial manager, a new account manager for New South Wales and a new Victorian sales team.

Travis Anderson joined the company in the newly created role of commercial manager, Angus Fischer was appointed as an account manager in New South Wales, and Maurice D’Alessandro and Anne Caruso were appointed to the roles of Victorian/Tasmanian State sales manager and Victorian account manager respectively.

“I am very pleased to welcome such a dynamic group of people to the Philips Consumer Electronics team,” said Matthew Moran, General Manager, Philips Consumer Electronics Australia.

“Philips is committed to bringing meaningful consumer innovations to the market and this year more than ever with revolutionary products such as the Aurea TV we have a tremendous opportunity to make significant gains in the Australian market.

“Our goal is to be the best company for retailers and consumers to do business with, so it is important to recruit and retain the best people in the industry. With the addition of Travis, Angus, Maurice and Anne, I am absolutely confident that we will continue to be a favoured trading partner and reflect our ongoing promise to deliver simplicity in our day-to-day workings.”

Travis Anderson’s role will be primarily focused on growing Philips’ hospitality business, which includes a portfolio of products specially developed for use in hotels and other commercial locales. Philips has global supply agreements with some of the world’s largest hotel groups including the Accor Group.

Anderson has over 10 experience years in the consumer electronics industry, following business development and account management roles at Sampford IXL, Hifi Acoustics and Harvey Norman Commercial.

Maurice D’Alessandro will lead Philips’ refreshed Victorian/Tasmanian sales team as the state sales manager. He has over 15 years consumer electronics experience at Sharp Corporation, where he most recently held a similar role as the Victorian state sales manager.

Anne Caruso has four years experience as an account manager in Victoria with the Sharp Corporation and prior to Sharp, Caruso held a similar role for two years with Vax Appliances.

Angus Fischer will be responsible for growing many of Philips’ key accounts in Sydney including The Good Guys, Harvey Norman and Domayne. Fisher’s 10 years of retail experience will be an asset in that role.
