SYDNEY: Omega Appliances today announced a change in distributor for its Omega and Smeg brands in Western Australia —ending a 19 year relationship with the existing distributor, SC Munro & Co.

Andrew Cronin, general manager of Omega Appliances, stated that the company’s 19 year relationship with SC Munro & Co will cease on December 31, 2007 when GBI Sales Pty Ltd will assume the role of sole agent in Western Australia.

In a statement released today, Omega Appliances said that according to Cronin, the strong relationship between Omega Appliances and SC Munro & Co had been an “extremely productive one which has proven successful for both parties”.

Cronin expressed his gratitude and appreciation to all of the staff at SC Munro & Co for their consistent professionalism and support.

Omega Appliances today declined to comment further, but in the statement the company also explained that the appointment of GBI Sales Pty Ltd, a company with several years experience in the distribution of high-end white goods brands in Western Australia, will take effect on January 1, 2008.

GBI Sales is also the Western Australian distributor for Pioneer, Miele, Oregon Scientific, Directed Electronics and Wharfedale.
