SYDNEY: Logitech today announced the appointment of George Saad as general manager of Logitech Australia — he succeeds Marco Manera, the previous managing director, who is relocating to Paris to manage the Southern European region of Logitech.

Saad was previously the national sales manager for Australia, responsible for all retail sales and strategies within the Australian market place. He joined Logitech in 2001 as manager of Australia and New Zealand mass merchant and retail accounts.

“George’s strong background in retail, his knowledge of the marketplace, his unrivalled passion and dedication make him a uniquely qualified individual to take the local Logitech business to new heights.” said Manera.

Saad was looking forward to the challenge: “This is an exciting new role and opportunity, and I know I have some very big shoes to fill. One of my main initiatives will be to ensure all the cogs within the company continue to work together cohesively, in order to build on Logitech’s strength within the Australian market place. In addition, Logitech has recently put enormous focus on the CE and digital home market. This will undoubtedly present a challenging and exciting time ahead, and I am looking forward to that.”
