SYDNEY: Housewares International, the parent company of Breville and Kambrook small appliance brands, has appointed former Salton Australia CEO, Paul Hill, to a newly-created role of group general manager.

Hill told Current.com.au this afternoon that he will relocate from Melbourne to Sydney to commence his new role on Monday 9 July.

Prior to accepting the role with Housewares International, Hill worked for American-based hardware company, CFM, managing their Asian operations out of China.

"Paul joins HWI with 10 years industry experience, both in Australia and in Asia, where he worked for Chiaphua Industries Ltd, one of HWI’s largest suppliers," Housewares International managing director, Joe Hersch, said in a statement.

"Paul has previously held Senior Management positions with Black & Decker and, on his return to Australia from Asia in 2005, was the CEO of Salton Australia for 12 months," Hersch said.

Hill was previously marketing director of Black & Decker housewares business and later general manager of power tool business based in Australia and was later employed as marketing director – Asia Pacific based in Singapore.
