MELBOURNE: Harvey Norman named former Fortitude Valley and current Castle Hill franchisee, Nick Hartwig, as the rookie of the year at the retail group’s awards ceremony at the Crown Towers last night in Melbourne.

Harvey Norman general manager – electrical, David Ackery recognised the efforts of Hartwig, who became a franchisee over 12 months ago.

"I called Nick between 12 and 18 months ago when he was a 2IC at Domayne on the Gold Coast and asked him if he would like to be a franchisee – he said yes before we told him where he would be going. Nick took over Fortitude Valley which was a negative store and turned it into a seven-figure result from the store," Ackery said.
