Eagle Farm: Australian PC-maker, Leader Computers, has entered a distribution deal with BSR that will see its desktops and notebooks sold throughout Betta Electrical and Chandlers stores nationally.

BSR national buyer, Simon Bright, told Current.com.au that Leader Computers fit the retailer’s requirements.

“We’ve put them on as a preferred supplier because they are an Australian-owned company whose products are also assembled here,” he said.

“Their speed to market is quicker than other [suppliers] and they have a great range of notebooks and desktops that fit our demographic very well.”

According to Bright, some BSR members already have their hands on Leader Computers stock, with others to follow shortly.

“They will be officially launched in our stores when our May catalogue comes out,” said Bright.

Leader Computers managing director, Paul Kristoris, told ARN that his Adelaide-based company has been dealing with Betta Electrical stores on-and-off for years, but "this will be the first time we are appointed as a preferred national supplier.”

The Leader Computers stable of products are branded with the Leader logo and are called ‘Leader SlimPC’.

"Our product stacks up very well against tier 1 vendors because we are quicker to market with new technology and competitively priced," Kristoris told ARN.

"We are really excited about Betta because it will allow us to introduce our product to a lot of areas of the market which we previously were not active in. We have shown particular strength in SA and Victoria but we haven’t been strong in Queensland and NSW and Betta will help take us take our products there," he said.
