SYDNEY: Samsung has announced details of its latest vacuum cleaner technology, known as MultiChamber, which the company will integrate into a range of vacuum cleaners over the coming months.
“In 2007 we will introduce a new range of bagless models which we’ve coined the Multi-Chamber range,” Samsung product manager – digital and cleaning appliances, Paul Lipscomb told current.com.au
“They are being positioned as our high-end models and are based on a technology which we’ve been marketing for the past year known as Twin Chamber technology.
Until recently, TwinChamber vacuums represented the highest technology in the Samsung vacuum cleaner range, however the MultiChamber technology will now hold that title and feature in the company’s premium vacuums.
The MultiChamber concept takes the TwinChamber technology to the next level, multiplying it within the same dustbin.
“Essentially, if you think of the multi-cyclone vacuum cleaner it’s got a lot of funnels in it, and the MultiChamber vacuum has a similar set-up, except that each of the chambers is actually a twin chamber. So within each chamber there is one chamber dedicated to dust collection and the other chamber is for air to flow through.
“The main benefit is that there is long lasting suction power which is in fact even better than the TwinChamber vacuums, and it will compete strongly with other brands,” he said.
Initially, there will be two models in the MultiChamber range, the SC9160 (RRP $699) and the SC9540 (RRP $799) with full digital display. Both models boast 1800-watts of power with 360-watts suction and a low operating noise level of only 73dB.
