PARIS: ViewSonic Corporation has received the ‘Best Of’ award at the recent 2006 Apple Expo in Paris, France for its world first ‘made for iPod’ LCD display with integrated iPod dock – the ViewSonic ViewDock.

The ViewDock monitor expands the iPod’s media player capabilities by integrating an iPod docking station into a widescreen LCD display.

“ViewSonic’s commitment to take desktop viewing to the next level is evident in our being the world’s first manufacturer to truly expand the connectivity possibilities of LCD displays,” said ViewSonic Europe vice president of marketing, Mel Taylor.

“These products will fill a gap in the iPod accessories market, delivering users around the globe the quality and excellence of the ViewSonic heritage.”

The ViewDock, which enables users to synchronise and charge their iPod while playing music directly through the monitor speakers, also features several USB 2.0 ports, an 8-in-1 memory card reader, microphone, integrated stereo speakers and a subwoofer.

The display features fast response times, high brightness and contrast ratios, as well as wide viewing angles and can be used for games, downloaded video content and full-length movies.

The ViewSonic ViewDock displays will be available in November at select retailers and e-tailers with pricing not yet available.
