MELBOURNE: Dino Scaramuzzo has returned to Perma Seal Electrical Appliances – the local distributors of LauraStar ironing systems – after three months away from the business, by taking a significant equity share in the business.

Scaramuzzo has returned to his role of general manager, which commenced late last month.

Scaramuzzo told Current.com.au that LauraStar will continue to represent an important part of the Perma Seal business.

New LauraStar products – the S5 (approx RRP $2,200) and the G5 (approx RRP $1,200) – are expected to be launched in the second half of 2007.

Another new product to be launched is the NuWave Oven, which Scaramuzzo says was the number one selling convection oven sold through television shopping in North America for three consecutive years.

Television shopping network, TVSN, as well as Myer and David Jones will continue to represent strong distribution channels for the company.

“I am very happy to be back in the business,” Scaramuzzo told Current.com.au.

“The majority owner of the business is planning to take a back seat, allowing me to put my strategies in place. I expect to be in charge of everything from next year onwards.

“We are definitely going to expand into other electrical appliances which are currently unknown brands in the Australian market.”
