JOONDALUP: Betta Electrical Joondalup will close tomorrow eight months after existing BSL member Jason Sawkins acquired the store from another member of the group.

BSL notified to suppliers earlier this week that the Joondalup Betta Electrical & Gas store on Winton Road will cease trading on 16 September, and that the store is no longer approved for central accounting.

However, Sawkins’ other store in Claremont will continue to operate as normal.

The Joondalup store was previously owned by Clive and Judy Berryman, who sold the store to Sawkins on 16 January, 2006, to concentrate on their Bunbury Superstore. The Joondalup store was managed by Colby Reeves who had already worked with Sawkins for six years.

The Joondalup store has been advertising a closing down sale since 22 August.

The Joondalup district is also serviced by a Good Guys and Harvey Norman store as well as Retravision Joondalup which was voted by over 100 suppliers as the best retail store earlier this year. A Rick Hart store, which is owned the publicly listed Clive Peeters, also services the Joondalup area.

Sawkins was unavailable to comment on the store closure.
