Sunbeam to use Jim’s to install and service barbecues

SYDNEY: Sunbeam will use the broad geographical distribution of the Jim’s Group franchise to assist with the delivery and installation of the brand’s new Innovo range of barbecues which were officially launched this afternoon in Sydney.

Sunbeam chief executive, Jonathan Lord, told Current.com.au Jim’s Group will become a partner for the assembly and service for the Innovo barbecues.

The assembly cost will be $88 for the GB4000 which retails for $799 and $100 for the GB5100, which retails for $1,199.

Jim’s offers 95 per cent coverage of Australia and has committed to servicing purchasers within a two hour window which is negotiated with the consumer. The Jim’s franchise includes Jim’s Mowing, which was started by Jim Penman in 1982 with a second hand lawn mower.

Jim’s consultants will also be used for service issues for the Innovo barbecues.

Consumers with any issues must contact Sunbeam customer service prior to the referral to a Jim’s consultant for any service issues.

The barbecues which are manufactured in China, to specifications by the Sydney-based Sunbeam design team, will be sold by selected Retravision stores as well as Harvey Norman.

Sunbeam decided to enter the barbecue market in January this year and employed the assistant of barbecue engineer, Paul Riley, who has previously worked with Barbecues Galore.
