SYDNEY: Sunbeam is targeting HoMedics in the $35 million well-being category with three new products for Father’s Day.

Sunbeam has released two products targeting volume pricepoints with the Buzz Bean and Pulse Pod battery operated massage products.

“These fun massagers come in clean little boxes so that you can see the little characters,” said Sunbeam marketing manager – personal care, Ann Marie Weir.

“They are especially useful when you use them on your back.

“We have developed two characters which are priced at $19.95 and the ideal Father’s Day gift. It’s a fun gift giving idea.”
Sunbeam has also released a Rolling Back and Seat Massager (RRP $149).

“You will not be surprised to see us release our first Back and Seat Massager,” Weir told current.com.au.

“This is the first of a number of products in this category. It offers three different styles of massage with dual roller mechanism which starts at the base of the spine and running up to the neck."

The product also offers tapping and vibration settings with a choice of speed and strength. You can choose to have a relaxing massage and a very powerful massage action as well if you do have problems or a pain that you need to get rid of.

“We originally launched back and seat massagers in 2000, and it appears we might have been ahead of our time. Now we are just revisiting the category. Left the category in 2003 under the Therapeutics line. We still have back massage cushion and handheld shiatsu massager."

Sunbeam will be running a promotion on its entire range of shavers from 1 August to 24 December. With every shaver purchased from the SH3300 entry level model (RRP $79.95) to the SH7700 (RRP $199), consumers will receive a

Sunbeam-branded Suduko game valued at $34.95 which will be shrink-wrapped to the product for immediate redemption.

“We expect the Sudoku promotion to be extremely successful following the Slazenger Watch promotion we held at Christmas."
