ADELAIDE: Harvey Norman will open a new store in the Adelaide Hills district as part of a new home maker centre to be built at Mount Baker.

Along with Spotlight, Harvey Norman will anchor the $46 million development, with the bulky goods retailer occupying approximately 4,000 square metres of the 17,000 square metre facility.

Scheduled to open in February 2007, local Adelaide developer Daycorp will be behind the centre’s construction, after purchasing the land from a local family for an undisclosed amount.

The centre, to be built on a 4.5 hectare light industrial site, will include a 2,000 square metre office area and parking for approximately 440 cars.

The fastest growing rural town in Australia, Mount Baker has a population of around 80,000 people and a household income 15 per cent higher than the Adelaide average.
