Over 100 separate suppliers have nominated four retail organisations – Harvey Norman, The Good Guys, Bing Lee and Retravision for the Best Retail Organisation Award at the Electrical Retailing Awards (ERAs).

The ERAs, co-presented by Appliance Retailer magazine and GfK Australia, are the first local electrical industry awards to celebrate the performance of volume and value by retailers and manufacturers.

Judging criteria for this award included the retailer with the most educated and knowledgeable staff, buying and operational efficiencies, communication with suppliers and preparedness for the future.

Several judges described this winner as having the industry’s best communication with suppliers which complemented operational efficiencies from a large buying capacity.

This retailer’s educated and knowledgeable staff were complemented by tidy store layouts and product displays.

Suppliers said this retailer’s market share provided them with advertising strength that consistently positions the brand as a leader in small appliances, whitegoods, consumer electronics and information technology.

The winner of this award will be announced at the inaugural Electrical Retailing Awards (ERAs) at the Sofitel Wentworth Hotel in Sydney tonight.
