Australia and New Zealand’s top retail marketing awards.

Entries are now open for POPAI’s annual Marketing at Retail Awards, with the best in Australian retail marketing campaigns to be recognised across 26 categories, covering physical displays and shopper experience.

The POPAI Awards recognise and reward best practice, innovation, and excellence in retail and shopper marketing. Open to both POPAI members and non-members, entrants vie for Gold, Silver and Bronze ‘Indian’, a tribute to the first instore marketing in the US, the Cigar Store Indian, more than 50 years ago.

In addition to Gold, Silver and Bronze, POPAI’s highest honour, the Tom Harris Marketing at Retail Award (named after POPAI ANZ founder, Tom Harris) is selected from Gold winners. Other Pinnacle Awards are given for excellence in Design & Innovation, Shopper Experience, and the best of the best in both Permanent and Temporary Display.

POPAI ANZ general manager, Carla Bridge said the region is one of the world’s strongest in retail marketing campaigns in the world, which was reflected in the number of last year’s winners going on to win global awards against the best in the world.

“POPAI ANZ’s Marketing @ Retail Awards are the top recognition of success for the Australian and New Zealand retail marketing industry, with the Awards last year receiving more than 165 entries. While there are plenty of retail award programs, there are none quite like the POPAI Awards, which specifically recognise retailers and brands for creativity, innovation and excellence in marketing.

“To win a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Indian is no mean feat, with entrants required to hit set score benchmarks in order to receive a prize. The Awards really are the pinnacle in the industry, providing winners with invaluable exposure and recognition from peers,” Bridge said.

Award entries are open until 17 July, 2017. Entries must have been in market between 1 July, 2016 and 30 June, 2017. Winners will be announced at the POPAI Awards gala dinner, on 12 October, 2017.
