Grand opening this weekend.

The Good Guys Tempe, in Sydney’s inner-west, will open its doors to the public for its grand opening on Saturday 4 March. The store is 23,000 square metres and employs 28 full-time and casual staff. Print and radio advertising for the new store kicked off today and there will be some special opening offers over the weekend.

Prior to opening, store executive manager, Phil Favero (pictured below), who was previously managing the Rockdale store, spoke to AR about the new store.

“It’s all about the customer experience. Our store is very open and easy to navigate with clean lines and long aisles. Tempe is one of the select Good Guys stores with a range of products from UK kitchenware specialist Lakeland, which has been rolling out in stores since October 2016. I am really excited about having this concept and look forward to seeing the customer response,” Favero said.

“Our store also has a Kitchen Design Centre that combines kitchen design and cabinetry with appliances and kitchenware in one location. We have an in-store kitchen consultant to provide advice and ideas to customers. It complements our cooking offer very well,” he added.

“Thanks to warmer weather over the past weeks, cooling sales have been exceptional and the French Door refrigerator category has also been performing well. Our TV Zone is home to over 50 live screens, with the majority of them across the back wall for easy viewing and comparison. New models are also expected to arrive in the coming weeks.

The Good Guys has introduced a ‘modular gondola’ system which enables the team to put up or take down displays quickly to keep the store looking fresh and new.

The Good Guys Tempe will be open 10am to 7pm Monday to Wednesday and Friday, 10am to 9pm on Thursday, 9am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 5pm on Sunday. “We want to cater to customers who may be passing after work during the week,” he said.
