With launch of refrigerators.

Hitachi has made a comeback into the Australian home appliance market, rolling out a range of glass door refrigerators in French Door and Top Mount designs along with selected models in Inox. The range is expected to expand over the next six months.

Hitachi national sales manager, Frank Malcaus told Appliance Retailer, “Over the last five years there has been a change the way Australian consumers view their kitchens. The kitchen has always been the hub of the home as the gathering point for families and friends. Consumers are now seeking products that are superbly built, elegantly designed, energy efficient and have features that will enhance their lives.”

“Hitachi has re-entered the market as we feel that our core competencies of high-energy efficiency, engineering excellence, industry leading warranty (five years parts and labour, and 10 years warranty on the Inverter Compressor) and innovative design aesthetics will be appealing and well received by Australian consumers.

“We have focused on products with features and finishes that fill a void in the market. An ideal example is the innovative 456LTR R-WB480PT2 series; a full featured French Door fridge that will fit in the same size footprint as a large-sized Top Mount fridge. The products boast numerous features, excellent energy efficiency and a choice of glass door finishes in black, grey, silver and white,” he continued.

“Consumers are no longer happy with white or stainless steel appliances. They are looking for different colours and finishes that do not necessarily need to match other kitchen appliances. Hitachi refrigerators are on trend with a variety of colours in glass, metal and enamel finishes, enhancing any kitchen.

“Part of our marketing messaging will be to tap into the desire of consumers in reducing the amount of fresh food wastage and having a lower impact on natural resources by using more energy efficient products. This is something that more and more consumers are looking for in their products,” he said.

In a recent Choice survey, respondents listed electricity as their top concern with food and groceries coming in at number three. The Hitachi refrigerator range addresses these concerns with energy efficient products and features that help extend fresh food life.
