Renewed mixer and blender.

The new market leader in food preparation, KitchenAid, will launch two key products for Christmas, including an all new mixer – the company’s first one in 20 years.

Building on its 97 year old mixer heritage, KitchenAid has reimagined their iconic mixer for urban living. The new Artisan Mini (RRP $799) is lighter and more compact, but just as powerful. “Mini is 20% smaller and 25% lighter, but just as versatile thanks to the attachment hub” KitchenAid general manager, Kay Oswald said.

“This is a very strong value proposition for millennial foodies who often live in urban areas with smaller kitchens and are more interested in ‘making’ than ‘baking’. Our research confirmed that millennials were more intrigued with being able to spiralize salads, grind meat for gourmet burgers, and make pasta from scratch than mixing. The Mini Mixer is compatible with over 10 hub attachments including the on-trend spiralizer which will be included as an introductory bonus offer valued at $199,” Oswald said.

The second product launched for Christmas is the new Pro Line blender (RRP $1499) which KitchenAid claims is the world’s most powerful residential blender.

“The great proposition of this product is its superior power at the blade, the auto soup program that prepares a hot soup from raw ingredients in less than 5 minutes and its dual wall jar. This thermal retention jar not only keeps soups hotter and smoothies cooler for up to 30% longer, but it also stays cool to the touch. We found this to be an especially important feature for parents of young children when preparing hot ingredients.”

Oswald has confirmed that both products will be in the market by October and will be exclusive to department stores and independent retailers before the distribution broadens next year.

“With the decline in the personal blender market there is a huge opportunity for consumers who are hooked on blending to support their healthy lifestyle, but are tired of low-end plastic blenders. We are addressing exactly those consumers; You won’t find any plastic on the base, knobs or even the lid cap. It’s all die cast metal with great craftsmanship, made in the USA.

“The 10 year warranty with this product sets a new benchmark in the industry and creates a great opportunity for retailers to tell this story on the shop floor and reassure consumers. This is a great alternative for retailers to trade up the consumer looking for the ultimate health tool, so book in an in-store demonstration to see it in action,” he said.
