In newly created role.

Breville has announced that David Gubbin has been appointed to a newly created role of general manager – UK and European Partners following the departure of Breville UK managing director, Tim Hossack.

Gubbin will now oversee the UK sales and distribution office functions in addition to his role of managing the European distribution partners for the Breville group which he assumed earlier this year.

Gubbin worked in the Breville office in Sydney across sales and marketing roles for 11 years before joining the UK office as director of sales and marketing in early 2013 to help launch the Sage by Heston Blumenthal range through retailers including John Lewis, Selfridges, House of Fraser, Debenhams, Lakeland, Harrods and Amazon.

“We are continuing to follow the launch plan that we instigated when we entered the UK market distributing through key department stores, more recently we have added some smaller kitchen specialists.  We are not changing this strategy as we are continuing to grow a new brand within this exciting market,” Gubbin told Appliance Retailer.

“We are positioning premium products within the premium retailers. Coffee has been fantastic for us, particularly as the Brits start to understand what a real cup of coffee is like. The coffee category in particular is booming over here as the general out of home category improves in this market,” he said.
